Gerdau invests in renewable energy generation projects
Gerdau will significantly increase the use of renewable energy in its entire production chain in Brazil, Kallanish notes. The steelmaker has signed a binding agreement for the acquisition of a 33.3% share in electricity provider Newave Energia (NE).
According to the deal, the steelmaker and its subsidiaries will purchase 30% of the energy generated by the power generation projects held directly or indirectly by NE in the self-production model, according to Gerdau.…
