Gerdau SBQ upgrades target electric, hybrid autos
Gerdau expects its latest $40.4 million upgrade of its SBQ mill in Monroe, Michigan, will allow it to compete effectively in the ever-expanding zero-emission vehicle market.
The latest investment primarily consists of packaging and cutting equipment, though it caps off more than $400m in extensive upgrades at the mill. All upgrades are expected to be in place by 2024.
