Unforeseen imports drag down German commodity rebar prices
Unexpected imports of rebar that have landed at German Baltic ports have had an influence on local prices, although this will probably be limited in time and range.
Volumes of mainly 12m-long commodity rebar in September landed at ports in Wismar, Germany, and Szczecin, Poland, right on the border to Germany. According to a local source, the loads originated in Russia and Algeria and were bound for Istanbul but were rejected access there.
