Glencore-Merafe ferrochome joint venture ups output
Glencore saw attributable ferrochrome production at its South African joint venture with Merafe inch up 2% on-year in the first half of 2022 to 786,000 tonnes. This reflects consistent smelter performance, the group observes.
Second-quarter production alone was 374,000t, up from 298,000t in Q1 but down from 399,000t in Q2 2021, Kallanish notes.
The firm has lowered its full-year ferrochrome production guidance to 1.47 million tonnes, from the previous 1.5mt.
