Higher prices boost Stalprodukt electrical steel performance
Stalprodukt’s electrical steel segment revenue surged 88% on-year in the first quarter to PLN 399.9 million ($90.2m), while segment profit soared over six-fold to PLN 16.6m, Kallanish notes.
The performance is mainly attributed to the significant increase in sales prices. Volumes shipped were similar on-year, the firm says without providing tonnages. Despite the strong results, cheaper import competition persists, it adds.
