Indian billet plunges ahead of festival
Indian billet appears to be falling well ahead of the Diwali festival. This follows subdued demand for finished flat and long steel and falling local scrap offers in the domestic market, Kallanish notes.
No enquiries for billet exports for the East African market were heard by Indian producers. Bids were hovering at $520-525/tonne fob India, whereas Indian 3SP/4SP re-rollable grade induction furnace billet was heard at $580-590/t fob India.
