India’s December automotive production plunges on subdued demand
Indian automotive output plunged 16% on-year to 1,638,111 units in December, reports the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM). Output includes passenger vehicles (PV), commercial vehicles, three-wheelers, two-wheelers and quadricycles.
Production, however, was up 8% on-year to 16,918,853 units during April-December. In the December quarter, automotive output clocked at 5,857,511 units, Kallanish notes.
