Indonesia plans export tax on nickel products
The Indonesian government is considering to impose an export tax on some nickel products as soon as this year, Kallanish learns.
According to Septian Hario Seto, deputy for mining and investment at the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime and Investment Affairs, a progressive levy on nickel pig iron and ferronickel may be imposed after Indonesia banned most nickel ore exports since 1 January 2020.
