Iron ore gains, Chinese scrap jumps
Seaborne iron ore prices have continued to appreciate, while Chinese domestic scrap prices leapt higher over the weekend. Mills have been purchasing raw materials as production is expected to increase from a stable low in late November.
The Kallanish KORE 62% Fe index inched $0.35/t higher to $101.46/dry metric tonne cfr Qingdao. The Kallanish KORE 65% Fe index gained $0.71/t to $117.99/dmt cfr, and the KORE 58% Fe index increased $0.43/t to $74.67/dmt cfr.
