Italian HRC market silence persists, price drop expected
The Italian hot rolled coil market standoff is persisting this week, with very little appetite from buyers for either domestic or imported material.
The latest price increases announced in September by European producers are coming up against “a wall from buyers” who are not in need of material, local coil buyers and sellers tell Kallanish. Buyers are only purchasing some small volumes, and back-to-back, to test the market.
