Italian pig iron prices fall
Italian pig iron prices are seen falling in new contracts. The number of offers has increased from foreign suppliers, with prices down $100/tonne on average compared to April levels.
Despite the competitive values, however, Italian buyers who purchase directly from producers to replenish stocks at the main port of Marghera are adopting a wait-and-see attitude, forecasting further price falls.
