Italian rebar makers push up prices

After stopping sales last week, Italian rebar producers are asking for price increases of some €50/tonne ($49) compared to last month due to high energy costs. Mills in Italy are facing increased energy costs each day and have urged the government to limit energy prices. A government decision on the matter is expected this week. Some steelmakers in Italy are considering implementing an energy surcharge of €200-300/t on top of their finished product price…
