Italian rebar makers seek increases
Italian rebar producers are seeking a €20/tonne ($20.3) increase in new contracts. This is despite the latest round of offer hikes last month not being completely accepted by the market.
Some steelmakers are pushing up quotes to €680-690/t base ex-works before the summer holidays due to high production costs. Rebar contracts however remain at €620-630/t base ex-works, market participants tell Kallanish.
