Italian scrap consumption stagnates
Italian scrap prices are flat this week. Activity is again slowing following last week’s surge in prices and some demand resumption.
This week some mills are again idling production while others do not seem to be in a rush to purchase. This month, Italian steelmakers bought large quantities of imported scrap mainly from Germany and Eastern Europe, as well as some smaller tonnages from France.
