Italian scrap import contracts flatten
Italian contract prices for scrap imports from Germany, France and Eastern Europe are flattening this month as expected. Local steelmakers have requested rather high volumes of imported scrap from neighbouring European countries, Kallanish hears.
French and German suppliers however report limited old scrap availability and a lower intake of grades such as shredded E40 and sheared scrap, while E8 new arisings is largely available.
