Italian scrap prices climb
Despite the gloomy forecast for European scrap, Italian scrap demand and prices are increasing in the first contracts of November, although some mills are mulling stoppages.
The market is said to be “tense” as large steelmakers are in buying mode and requesting high tonnages. The average scrap price month-on-month increase so far in Italy is in the range of €10-30/tonne (€9-29), depending on grade and quality, sources tell Kallanish.
