Japanese domestic, export scrap prices slide
A Japanese monthly scrap export tender has settled lower in tandem with the weakened international scrap markets, Kallanish notes.
The Kanto Tetsugen Cooperative Association awarded a 5,500-tonne parcel in its 9 June export tender at JPY 53,560/t ($402/t) fas. Last month, the scrap association chose to reject the highest bid of JPY 58,100/t fas it received on 11 May.
