Japanese steel consumption stays poised in November
Japan’s domestic steel consumption totalled 4.05 million tonnes in November, down only 0.3% from October and 2.4% year-on-year, according to data from the Japan Iron & Steel Federation (JISF).
Year-to-date volumes through November were boosted to 46.19mt, up 12.96% y-o-y, Kallanish learns. Ordinary steel products occupied a market share of about 76% in both monthly and year-to-date consumption, with the remainder being specialty steel.
