Krakatau Steel plans silicon steel production in Indonesia
Krakatau Steel and Indonesia's PT PLN (Persero) have signed a cooperation agreement to promote the local production of transformer parts in Indonesia that can replace imported products.
PLN director Darmawan Prasodjo said in a statement that the cooperation can boost the development of Indonesia's local silicon steel industry. Silicon steel is one of the most important materials used as transformer core, Kallanish notes.
