LatAm August steel shipments to US remain down
Latin American steel exports to the US decreased both on-month and on-year in August. Year-to-date exports were also lower, mainly as a result of reduced supply from Brazil, Kallanish notes. Latin America in this context includes South and Central American countries together with Mexico.
According to preliminary data issued by the US Census Bureau, exports to the US from Latin America were 7.8% less on-month at 605,364 tonnes in August. This is also down 10.5…
