LatAm January crude steel production rises sequentially
South American and Mexican crude steel production increased month-on-month in January, according to the latest worldsteel data monitored by Kallanish. Output, however, was weak versus the same period in 2022.
South American output totalled 3.61 million tonnes during the month, up 8.8% over December but 0.6% less year-on-year.
The region’s largest producer, Brazil, saw crude steel production reach 2.78mt in January, 11.1% higher m-o-m but down by 4.9%…
