Liberty Steel Georgetown resumes production
Liberty Steel has partially resumed operations at its wire rod mill in Georgetown, South Carolina, this week after idling in April 2020, a representative of the mill affirms with Kallanish.
Liberty Steel Georgetown is currently operating at around 30% production capacity, with around 65 steelworkers returning to the mill earlier this week after nearly two years off of work. Previously, over 100 steelworkers at the Georgetown mill were laid off in December 2020.
