LME scrap volumes rise in August, rebar lowers
The London Metal Exchange (LME) saw both the number of lots and tonnage volumes rise month-on-month in its scrap contracts in August but fall for rebar, the exchange tells Kallanish. Average prices dipped on-month for both rebar and for scrap.
The LME formerly advised an end-of-month price for both the rebar and scrap contracts in its monthly ferrous report. It now highlights average, minimum and maximum prices for the month for both products.
