Malaysia's total vehicle sales slipped 11.76% from April to 49,603 units in May as the shortage of chips and components and logistics disruptions continue to affect some makes, Kallanish notes.
According to the Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA), the fall in sales was also because of the short working month due to Hari Raya festive holidays.
On a year-on-year basis, total vehicle sales rose 5.08% from 47,207 units a year ago.
