Mexico’s steelmaking raw materials output drops in January
Mexican iron ore output decreased at the beginning of 2023, as did pellet and first-grade coke production, Kallanish notes.
According to local statistics institute Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Geografía (Inegi)’s latest report, the country produced 650,256 tonnes of iron ore in January. This was 3% less than December and down 36.1% compared to 1.01 million tonnes in the same period of 2022.
