Environmental authority suspends JSW’s planned Odisha mill clearance
The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has suspended environment clearances (ECs) obtained by JSW Steel for its 13.2 million tonnes/year capacity integrated steel plant in Jagatsinghpur, Odisha, Kallanish notes from an NGT order copy.
According to NGT, the suspension will last for three months before the Expert Appraisal Committee of the Ministry of Environment, Forestry, and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) takes a fresh call on the project.
