Nippon Steel's business profit breaks quarterly records
Japanese steelmaker Nippon Steel broke a quarterly record for consolidated business profit in the first quarter of fiscal 2022, even as the Japanese steel market was sluggish.
Nippon Steel's non-consolidated crude steel production and steel shipments in Q1 FY22 were 8.69 million tonnes and 8.19mt, down from 8.81mt and 8.31mt in Q4 FY21. Crude steel production and steel sales forecasts in H1 and FY22 will be 17.5mt and 16mt for H1, and 35mt and 32mt for FY22.
