NLMK begins by-product power plant assembly
Miner and steelmaker NLMK has embarked on equipment assembly of its new 300MW power plant at the flagship Russian Lipetsk steelworks, the company says in a note sent to Kallanish.
The new plant, initiated in 2019, will raise NLMK's energy self-sufficiency from 64% to 95% upon completion. It will also enable an annual reduction of carbon oxide (CO) emissions by 3,000 tonnes, while greenhouse gas (CO₂) emissions will be reduced by 650,000 t/year.
