NLMK ramps up HRC output with overhaul
NLMK has begun an overhaul of its reheating furnace used for slab prior to rolling at mill 2000 at its flagship Russian Lipetsk works, the company says.
The upgrade will increase hot rolled coil output at NLMK Lipetsk to 430,000 tonnes/year, up by 7% on-year, improve product quality, halve energy consumption, and reduce greenhouse gas (CO2) emissions by 53,000t, Kallanish notes.
