Northern European rod market falls silent
Northern European wire rod prices have remained flat this week amid zero demand and a very quiet market, sources say. Most participants do not expect the situation to change soon.
“The market is totally quiet; there is zero activity,” a trader from the Netherlands tells Kallanish.
Domestic transaction prices for drawing-quality wire rod are at €720/tonne ($784/t) ex-works and mesh-grade wire rod is at €740/t, sources say.
