Northwest European plate prices come off peak
Prices of heavy plate from northwestern European integrated mills have relaxed after their prolonged surge into the first weeks of April, and are now coming down to below the mark of €2,000/tonne ($2,100).
Views diverge over whether the peak was higher than €2,200, or rather at around €2,100, with a differentiation between S235 and S355 said to be pointless at these levels. One observer says he would not even have paid €2,100/t, although others…
