Oman consolidates position as Turkey billet supplier
Turkish billet imports under HS code 720711 surged 30% on-year in December to 253,846 tonnes, with Oman as well as Russia supplying large tonnages, Kallanish notes from Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data.
Russia provided 88,938t, while Oman supplied 79,639t. This is up 63% in the case of Russia, while Oman supplied zero in December 2021.
Algeria supplied 31,690t, down over 60% on-year, but Malaysia supplied almost 21,000t, its first billet supply to Turkey…
