Pakistan mills hike coil prices on rupee devaluation
Pakistan-based flat steel producers have raised their cold rolled and galvanized coil offers by PKR 4,650/tonne ($25.17), mainly because of the recent devaluation of the rupee against the dollar. Owing to the currency movement, mills will have to pay more for importing feedstock, Kallanish notes.
This represents the fifth hike by the steel mills since March, with three occurring last month and two so far in April.
