Despite the prevailing delays in opening letters of credit (LC), Pakistani imported scrap offers surged following the recent deal conclusions in Turkey at increased prices amid European and US winter holidays.
The rise in offers is mainly on the back of the sudden rebound in scrap demand amid a local scrap shortage, coupled with the State Bank of Pakistan’s assurances on easing LC opening, starting in January.
