Pakistan scrap softens amid fall in domestic market
Owing to weak finished steel demand in Pakistan’s domestic market, local scrap and billet prices plunged remarkably last week, which has also impacted the purchasing of imported materials.
Local scrap plunged by PKR 10,000/tonne ($46.51) on-week to PKR 128,000-129,000/t ex-Lahore, whereas local billet (Bala) fell by PKR 22,000-23,000/t to PKR 161,000-162,000/t ex-Lahore.
