Rebar rises hesitantly in northwest Europe
Rebar mills in Germany and the Benelux are asking for higher prices than they did in December, with a base price of €600/tonne ($681) seen as the target mark, market sources tell Kallanish. Business has been too sluggish yet to tell if sources are prepared to pay this level.
In December, deals peaked at the base price of €570/t, which plus the size extra of €265 came to €835/t delivered. Various benders were reported refilling their inventories…
