Rising trend continues in Turkish scrap market

All Turkish steelmakers have increased their domestic scrap buying prices since last week, while imported scrap prices continue rising with fresh deals. Turkish mills have sustained their strong demand for scrap, thereby further pushing up prices. In the latest bookings concluded this week, 18,000 tonnes of Baltic-origin HMS 95:5 scrap was sold at $310/tonne cfr Turkey. Two US suppliers have each sold HMS 80:20 at $301/t, shredded at $306/t,&nā€¦
