Russia continues to increase stainless imports in May
Russian imports of stainless steel scrap increased in January-May, despite Russia’s invasion of Ukraine altering market trading patterns, says national special steel association USSA.
Russia’s stainless intake in the first five mounts of the year amounted to 178,040 tonnes, up by 14% on-year, Kallanish notes. In May alone, stainless imports amounted to 38,100t, up by 35% compared to April.
