Russian steelmakers reduce production, FAS warns Russian Steel
Leading Russian steel companies are significantly reducing production due to sanctions against Russia after it invaded Ukraine, they confirm to Kallanish.
Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel (MMK) expects to reduce steel output by 40% next month. “The plant plans to produce 550,000 tonnes of steel in June,” a spokesperson says. At full capacity, MMK produces about 1 million tonnes/month.
