Hadeed's April rebar reduction stuns Saudi market
Saudi Arabia’s largest steelmaker, Hadeed, has stunned the market by decreasing rebar prices by SAR 150/tonne ($40) on March quotes. The announcement was made on 26 March.
The steelmaker is also offering a project discount of SAR 50/t for rebar, wire rod and rebar in coil deals for quantities above certain quota limits – a so-called eligibility percentage, which varies based on customer classification, Kallanish notes.
