Scrap prices continue to fall in Italy
Scrap prices are continuing to fall in Europe, with bids and offers for some grades well below the level of €370/tonne ($386/t). Italian mills are reducing their scrap prices in the domestic market by over €100/t on average in June and continue to slash purchases, Kallanish learns from market participants.
Demand remains low as most Italian mills continue to pause production for a few days per week on very poor demand for finished long and flat products.…
