Severstal replaces coke with gas for iron production
Severstal has achieved a record low consumption of solid fuel at the blast furnaces of its flagship Cherepovets Steelworks (CherMK).
In February, this figure was less than 350kg per tonne of pig iron, which is 16.5 kg/t of pig iron lower than in 2022, Kallanish notes.
