Cheaper imports push down GCC billet prices
Gulf Cooperation Council billet producers have lowered their export offers under pressure from declining Iranian and Russian quotes, Kallanish learns.
A northern GCC mill's electric arc furnace-route billet offer for export is heard at $610/tonne fob, equating $645-650/t cfr North Africa, for end-June shipment. Iran-produced EAF billet offers for shipment from Oman have meanwhile been heard at $600-610/t fob Oman.
