Stanmore buys Wotonga coking coal deposit
Australia’s Stanmore Coal will take control of the Wotonga South coking coal deposit from Millennium Coal for $30 million. The deposit in next to Stanmore’s Isaac Plains mining complex in the Bowen Basin, Kallanish notes.
The Wotonga South deposit could be developed into an open cut mine with extractable reserves of around 15-20 million tonnes over eight to ten years. The output will mainly be semi-hard coking coal, as well as low-volatility PCI coal…
