Steel futures fall, sentiment weakens
Chinese steel futures started to weaken late last Friday and extended their losses on Monday, as the Central Economic Work Conference cooled market sentiment, Kallanish notes.
On the Shanghai Futures Exchange, the most-traded May 2023 rebar contract closed CNY 122/tonne lower on Monday at CNY 3,927/t ($563/t), while the same contract for hot rolled coil lost CNY 124/t to CNY 3,981/t.
