Steel futures keep hiking on production cuts
Chinese rebar and hot rolled coil futures on Monday hiked further due to production cuts in Tangshan and Qinhuangdao City. This is the fourth consecutive day of gain from year-to-date lows, Kallanish notes.
On the Shanghai Futures Exchange, the most-traded October 2023 rebar contract closed CNY 42/tonne higher than Friday at CNY 3,638/t ($511/t), while the same contract for HRC gained CNY 43/t to CNY 3,765/t.
