Steel futures remain stable amid weak fundamentals
Market trading attempted to lift on expectations of production cuts, but was constrained by weak demand fundamentals. Chinese rebar and hot rolled coil futures remained stable on Wednesday, Kallanish notes.
On the Shanghai Futures Exchange, the most-traded October 2022 rebar contract closed CNY 11/tonne higher than Tuesday at CNY 4,360/t ($652/t), but the same contract for HRC closed down CNY 17/t at CNY 4,382/t.
