Steel futures slip as output accelerates
Chinese steel futures prices slipped slightly on Tuesday after gaining at the start of the week. Higher output this month has impact mill inventories, and could begin supporting market inventories soon, Kallanish notes.
On the Shanghai Futures Exchange the October rebar contract closed at CNY 3,757/tonne ($560/t), CNY 16/t lower than Monday, while the same contract for hot rolled coil closed down CNY 16/t at CNY 3,692/t.
