Turkey ramps up HR flats import in May
Turkey considerably increased its imports of hot rolled flat products in May compared to April, but five-month import volumes remained lower on-year, Kallanish notes.
Imports of HR flats under HS code heading 7208 totalled 478,610 tonnes in May, up 26.1% on-month but down 18.1% on-year, as January-May volumes fell 7.1% on-year to 2.18 million tonnes, Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data show.
