Turkish domestic scrap prices register improvement, imports stable
Some Turkish mills are seen increasing their domestic scrap buying prices from last week amid the continuing depreciation of the lira, Kallanish notes. Imported scrap prices, meanwhile, are seen following a stable trend on a fresh deal concluded from Sweden.
A Marmara mill bought the Sweden-origin cargo at $374/tonne cfr Turkey for HMS 1&2 80:20, $395/t for shredded and bonus, and $399/t for busheling.
